라디오를 듣다 보면 Albert Hammond의 노래는 딱 두 개만 나온다. "For the peace of all mankind"와 "It never rains in southern california".
그럼에도 불구하고 우리는 이 아자씨가 쓰거나 불렀던 노래들을 아주 많이 알고 있다. Leo Sayer의 "When I need you", Jefferson Starship의 "Nothing's gonna stop us now", Chicago의 "I don't wanna live without you", Julio Iglesian의 "To all the girls I've loved before" 등.
그리고 오늘 검열하는 The air that I breathe. 이 노래는 Hollies, Simply Red, Barry Manilow, k.d. Lang, Judy Collins, Olivia Newton-John 등 무쟈게 많은 사람이 불렀는데, Original은 1973년에 Albert Hammond가 발표한 것이다.
그런데 이 노래가 한 때 우리나라에서 금지 된 적이 있었다. 염세적이고 퇴폐적이라나. 잘 듣고 함 판단해 보시라, 특히 솔로 부대원들...
